A few pointers about funding
Heat Smart not only provides a cost-effective program, we can point non-profit agencies in the direction of possible funding sources. There are many companies you can prater with and many places to apply for grants. Consider:
- Many utility companies are very involved in Outreach programs for low income areas, and have the ability to fund Heat Smart kits in partnership with you and within their own heat assistance programs.
- Approach local banks and corporate community service programs for financial support. Prepare a plan outlining who the program will benefit, estimate the size of the need, and state if you need matching funds or complete funding.
- Look into your state’s heat assistance programs.
